Abstract

The paper investigates the relationship between analytical capabilities in the plan, source, make and deliver area of the supply chain and its performance. The effects of analytics on different maturity levels are analyzed with various statistical techniques. A sample of 788 companies from the USA, Europe, Canada, Brazil and China was used. The results indicate the changing impact of business analytics use on performance, meaning that companies on different maturity levels should focus on different areas. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are thoroughly discussed. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
