Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of playing paper quilling on the fine motor skills of children aged 4-5 years. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental Design research type. The population in this study was group A. Sampling in this research is purposive sampling. The sample in this study were 16 children with 8 children as the experimental group and 8 children as the control group. Data collection techniques used were descriptive statistical analysis and non-parametric statistical analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the fine motor skills of children who were treated with paper quilling activities in the experimental group were better than the control group with the acquisition of a value of Tcount 132 > Ttable 2.145 so that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected, while the value of Zcount was 2.34 > Ztable 0.4906 so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, this proves the use of paper quilling activities has a significant effect on the development of children's fine motor skills.
