This paper analyzes the phenomenon of young people Neet (Not in Education, Employment or Training) through the analysis of theory and research that highlight the different representations of the process of marginalization\exclusion underlying the question of the exclusion from the paths of education\training\work of substantial share of the youth population. The essay highlights the multidimensionality of the phenomenon that, on the international scene, is characterized by a variety of representations generated by the intertwining of historical, social and institutional dimensions, and by the proliferation of definitions and content from time to time represented. From this analysis emerge suggestions that open up new research perspectives and unusual suggest interesting insights for professionals.
