Abstract

Even though the level of detail and differentiation in the discussion presented throughout the chapters can be challenging, Kolers presents his analysis in an way that is both systematic and engaging, so that readers will be able and willing to keep up with the argument at all times. According to Kolers, in deciding whether to support a group in solidarity, I should be agnostic with regard to the group's aims, and instead check whether its members are badly off in terms of equity. In fact, as a democrat, I may well see it my duty as a citizen to not only keep a watchful eye on potential instances of inequity but also to acquire and cultivate the sensitivity required for identifying the latter.
