Abstract

Efficient water management is a crucial aspect in supporting operational activities at Diponegoro Vocational High School. Manually managed water reservoirs often present problems, such as overflowing or empty reservoirs due to late filling. This wastes water and electricity and increases the workload of management staff. To address these issues, this study designed an automatic water level detection system based on ultrasonic sensors and a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This system utilizes water level control sensors to detect the lower and upper limits of the water level, which the PLC then processes to control the pump automatically. In addition, water level data is sent to a database and displayed on the web in real-time. The Tsukamoto fuzzy logic method is employed in the control system to accommodate the uncertainty of sensor readings, utilizing natural language-based control to automatically regulate the pump according to rules such as "low water", "medium water", and "high water". The implementation of this system is expected to enhance water use efficiency, minimize waste, and alleviate the burden on managers at Diponegoro Vocational High School.
