Access to the new complex [TpCr(CN)3]- enables isolation of two metastable linkage isomers of a face-centered cubic cluster, [Tp8(H2O)6Cu6Cr8(CN) 24]4+, both exhibiting an S = 15 ground state. © The Royal Society of Chemistry.
