Abstract

The development of Organization Intelligence is nowadays the most ambitious and unavoidable challenge for businesses and companies alike. Yet, it presents undeniable difficulties. In this paper I will firstly carry out a comparative analysis of the most revealing theoretical approaches discussing the constructed notion of Organization Intelligence - indeed, this is a timely analysis, not only due of the heterogeneity and rapid evolution of the approaches to the concept of Organization Intelligence, but also due to disparity of perspectives followed by previous theoretical models. My aim is to contribute to this area of analysis by offering a detailed theoretical discussion and by putting forward a classification of different intelligence models which will offer strategies to decisions-making agents. Secondly, I will discuss some of the practical conclusions that can be applied to the development of policies for the creation and development of intelligence within these organizations. Succeeding at implementing these measures and overcoming certain organizational barriers will ensure an important improvement in the competitiveness of business, framed in a more demanding and dynamic environment.
