Abstract

This work presents a systematization of the main concepts, actions and results of the project “Regional contest of good public innovation practices in the Antofagasta region”. This initiative, carried out during 2017, was aimed at strengthening the innovative culture in the regional public sector by conducting workshops and presenting innovative proposals arranged by public officials of the city of Antofagasta, Chile. One of the main conclusions of this project is the need to develop greater efforts in order to generate spaces and platforms for the dissemination of good practices and innovative ideas by public officials at the regional level, and more spaces for approaching the concept and the methodologies related to public innovation, which would allow consolidating the emerging innovative culture in regional public institutions as well as the services observed during this experience.
