Abstract

A rapid method for the detection and quantitation of low barbiturate concentrations in serum using gas-liquid chromatography is presented. 0.01 mg barbiturates per 100 ml serum can be determined using a 1-ml serum sample. A simple extraction is described with diethyl ether as solvent. Hexobarbitone is used as internal standard. © 1973.
