Abstract
The recent situation at sea shows that, as the number of the vessels increases, the port traffic and the encounter situations also increase. Hence, minor and major marine accidents occur consistently. However, in the guidelines of the ship officers, COLREG regulation (International Convention for Regulations for preventing collision at sea) only gives the subjective expressions to avoid the collisions between the vessels, which is quite ambiguous in executing its actions to avoid the collisions. This study used the collision risk model (PARK model) that reflects the ship operator's consciousness which introduces the alarm systems and shows the degree of the risk on the screen. Moreover, it was tested in the vessels and ports with high traffics to confirm the effectiveness of the model.
