This article presents a case study of the Parque Villa- Lobos Library (BVL), located in São Paulo, Brazil. The BVL is a member of the State System of Public Libraries of São Paulo (SisEB). It was designed to become a differentiated model, in which people, their needs and interests are at the center of attention and in which all resources, books, spaces and cultural activities seek to satisfy their requirements to access culture and information. The document aims to think about the advances of the park library model in comparison to the traditional public library in Brazil, to analyze how sustainability and the issue of green libraries are configured in the park concept at the BVL, and to verify the main factors that impact in their applicability and reflect in their practices. In addition, it seeks to present a critical reflection on the 17 sustainable development goals for the Agenda 2030, in line with the programs and services developed or in development, published on the institutional website of the library.
