Abstract

Aim: Comparison of muscle-specific strength in patients with osteoporosis, sarcopenia, and osteosarcopenia and to examine its relationship with functional performance and bone mineral density. Findings: Muscle-specific strength, particularly when normalized to rectus femoris and quadriceps femoris thickness, is significantly reduced in patients with osteosarcopenia. Moreover, was independently associated with both functionality and T scores. Message: We need to support the clinical utility of muscle-specific strength as a biomarker for identifying high-risk individuals and tailoring interventions aimed at improving mobility and reducing fracture risk.
