Abstract

This text addresses the concept of intonation, postulated by Bakhtin`s Circle. Our goal is to understand the axiological aspects present in concrete discourse from the concept chosen, characterizing it as an element of relationship between verbal speech and the extraverbal context of the statement, to produce meanings to the discourse present in the virtual sphere of communication. We tried to understand, from the analysis of the genre, the concept of intonation applied to this specific publication on Facebook. The choice of the statement analyzed occurs due to the need to problematize the productions of the sphere of virtual communication nowadays, in line with the studies of Digital Literacy for teaching and learning purposes. In this direction, we found a publication that concerns the political context experienced in recent times, providing us with the necessary elements so that the analysis could be carried out. Thus, we understand that, in this type of concrete statement, social voices are loaded with valuations and identities specific to the social and historical contexts of the subjects of the utterance, which characterizes intonation as an aspect that establishes a link between the word and the extraverbal context. From these results, we understand how this discursive genre can be worked in a situation of language teaching and learning.
