Abstract
This study proposes a production method of cock-up splint by 3D printing using 2D scan instead of 3D scanning and compare satisfaction with cock-up splint using 3D scanning for patients complaining of wrist pain. Methods The subjects were selected as 10 patients who complained of wrist pain due to wrist tunnel syndrome and DeQuervain Syndrome. The study used a single-blind crossover trial design and randomly assigned two groups of five. Each group was provided with a cock-up splint made by the 2D scan method and the 3D scanning method, and their satisfaction was evaluated. Results The product satisfaction and service satisfaction of the cock-up splint using the 2D scan method were higher than the cock-up splint using the 3D scanning method. As a result of test the difference in satisfaction, there was a statistically significant difference. Conclusions If the 2D scan method is used to produce customized splint with 3D printing, it is expected that a highly satisfactory cock-up splint will be produced. These results are expected to contribute to the successful rehabilitation of wrist pain patients. However, this study has limitations in generalizing the results because the number of subjects is small. Therefore, it is thought that in the future, research the effectiveness by selecting more subjects should be conducted.
