Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the Nietzschean "overman" from the perspective of the Greek agon having as capital reference the protagonist of this contest: The hero. In order to do that, we first expose the central features that Nietzsche confers to the agon. Second, we describe the characteristics of the overman. Finally, we show the compatibility between them and the main qualities of the hero: The greatness of spirit, the playful nature of his work and the respect for the agon rules and his adversaries.
