Abstract

Stage directors are involved in a process similar to psychotherapists. They empathize, stimulate emotional recall, deal with conflict, encourage risk taking, build confidence, establish a supportive environment, and create a sense of family. This paper presents a comparison two processes directing and treating that rely on the skill of trusted facilitators.
