Abstract
Sixteen isoflavonoids have been isolated from the black gram, Phaseolus mungo L. (syn. Vigna mungo) following treatment with aqueous CuCl2. These include 12 known isoflavonoids: genistein, 2'-hydroxygenistein, 2'-hydroxydaidzein, kievitone, dalbergioidin, cyclokievitone, 5-deoxykievitone, 2'-hydroxydihydrodaidzein, isoferreirin, aureol, glycinol and demethylvestitol. In addition, kievitone hydrate, which was previously known only as a fungal metabolite of kievitone, was isolated together with 3 novel natural isoflavanones which were characterized as 4'-0-methylkievitone, cyclokievitone hydrate and 5-deoxykievitone hydrate. © 1984, Walter de Gruyter.
