Correção cirúrgica de otohematoma em cão: Relato de caso

Abstract

Otohematoma or also known as auricular hematoma is a pathology commonly diagnosed in the clinical-surgical routine of small animals, and may affect both dogs and cats, with a greater predisposition in animals with pendulous ears. The formation of the otohematoma is often related to direct and self-inflicted traumas on the auricular region due to inflammation and otologic pain secondary to otitis externa. The diagnosis of the disease is made based on the history and physical examination findings, and the surgical treatment is the most recommended. This study aims to report the occurrence of an otohematoma in a dog of undefined breed, whose treatment consisted in the execution of surgical drainage followed by the use of the technique of cap sutures using sterile polyester buttons. The method used as treatment promoted excellent results, assuring complete drainage of the auricular hematoma, absence of remaining blood accumulation between both aural cartilages, besides complete healing of the ear without tissue deformity.Otohematoma ou também conhecido como hematoma auricular é uma patologia comumente diagnosticada na rotina clínico-cirúrgica de pequenos animais, podendo acometer tanto cães quanto gatos, com maior predisposição em animais com as orelhas pendulares. A formação do otohematoma muitas vezes relaciona-se a traumas diretos e auto infringidos sobre a região auricular em decorrência de inflamação e dor otológica secundária a otite externa. O diagnóstico da enfermidade é realizado com base no histórico e achados do exame físico, sendo o tratamento cirúrgico o mais recomendado. O presente estudo tem como objetivo relatar a ocorrência de um quadro de otohematoma em um cão sem raça definida, cuja terapêutica empregada compreendeu na execução de drenagem cirúrgica seguida pelo emprego da técnica de suturas captonadas utilizando botões de poliéster estéreis. O método utilizado como tratamento promoveu excelente resultado, assegurando completa drenagem do hematoma auricular, ausência de acúmulo sanguíneo remanescente entre ambas as cartilagens aurais, além de completa cicatrização da orelha sem deformação tecidual.
