Abstract

Anxiety, depression and insomnia are common conditions among medically ill patients. Such disorders may be reactions to the hospital environment, categorical psychiatric disorders or symptoms of the medical condition. Treatment includes both psychotherapy and rational psychopharmacology that considers both the route of administration and side effects of the agent utilized. © 1994, The Keio Journal of Medicine.
