Abstract

This work analyzes the history of the Federal Rural Schools in the Texcoco and Chalco region during the era of the religious conflict Mexican society experienced during the period from 1926 to 1929, when the struggle between ideology and faith led to another civil war. The registration and study of the manifestations of the local conflict in the schools led, on the one hand, to a criticism of the periodization usually employed to date it, since the political and ideological struggle emerg-ed in the region in early 1923 and had not ended by the late 1930s. On the other hand, a study of these manifestations made it possible to contrast the region studied with others in the country where they were more violent. This can be explained by the profound factional split experienced in the majority of towns.
