Abstract

This study is framed in the investigation of the relationship between research competencies and innovative capacity in the specific context of public universities, exploring how these dimensions are interrelated in the academic field. The objective is based on analyzing the relationship between the development of research skills and innovative capacity in the public university context. The research used a quantitative approach, using surveys to measure research competencies and innovative capacity in professors, students, and administrative staff at public universities. This methodological design provided quantifiable data to analyze the relationship between these variables. The findings revealed a positive connection between research competencies and innovative capacity in the public university environment. Professors exhibited higher levels in both dimensions, while opportunities for improvement were identified in students and administrative staff. The conclusions highlight the importance of strengthening research skills to enhance innovative capacity in the university environment. The design of personalized educational strategies and the consideration of contextual factors in future initiatives is recommended.
