Abstract

A review focusing on the role of micronutrients during pregnancy is presented including the effects of zinc, vitamin C, carotenoids, iron and selenium on pregnancy outcome (including birth weight and incidence of preterm delivery and intrauterine growth retardation). Literature published in English between 1984 and November 1995 is included.
