Primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, leg type: A case report

Abstract

A case of leg type primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is reported. A 77-year-old woman presented with multiple dark-red plaques and nodules on the anterior shin of her right leg for 3 months. Histopathology of the skin specimens showed a dense diffuse neoplastic cell infiltration in the dermis and subcutaneous fat tissue. The neoplastic cells were large and irregular in shape, their nuclei were large, dark-stained and irregularly shaped. Mitotic figures were also observed. Immunohistochemistry study showed positive staining for CD20, CD79a, Bcl-2 and MuM-1. She was diagnosed as primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, leg type. Treated with anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody and CHOP chemotherapy, her condition was markedly improved.
