Abstract

A survey of allozyme variation in proteins encoded by 22 loci of Aegilops squarrosa was undertaken. 308 individual plants were analyzed. Polymorphic loci with the frequency of the most common allele less than 0.99 made up 0.32 of all loci. Iran was pointed out as a center of genetic variability. Locally abundant alleles made up 0.25 of alleles of all polymorphic loci. Clinal patterns in spatial distribution of some alleles were found. Copyright © 1993, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
