The aim of this research was to determine the effect of bio- film detachment, formed in a water distribution network, on the quality of water delivered to households, given that this may affect people's health and quality of life. Analyses of pH, turbidity, concentration of metals and microbiologi-cal in the water supply network were undertaken to find the effect of biofilms on water quality. We found high levels of aluminum and microorganisms with highly resistance spore structures that are difficult to control and represents a potentially health problem for the population (English) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
