Abstract

In this paper a Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) fed tomb shaped antenna with novel broad banding techniques is proposed for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) applications. The initial design is taken as an elliptical radiator and techniques such as beveling of upper and lower half of elliptical radiator and introducing staircase in the coplanar ground plane of the antenna are used to significantly enhance the bandwidth. The proposed antenna has overall size of 50×38×1.6 mm3 and possess good radiation characteristics and return loss
