Abstract

In this article, we look at the reasons why caring for the elderly was neglected during the pandemic in Spain. We argue that the fact that care and the frail old age are both socially undervalued explain the structural problems facing the care sector. It also affected the adopted emergency measures and had an impact on carergivers’ work during that time.
