KAJIAN PROFETIK DALAM SYAIR DINDANG SEBAGAI PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER RELIGIUS MASYARAKAT BANJAR KALIMANTAN SELATAN

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the prophetic values embedded in syair dindang as a medium for shaping the religious character of the Banjar community. The research employed a qualitative method with textual analysis. The data consist of transcriptions of syair dindang obtained from recording by elderly women across several research sites: (1) Samuda Village, Hulu Sungai Selatan; (2) Panyipatan Village, Tanah Laut; (3) Jatuh Village, Hulu Sungai Tengah; (4) Kayakah Village, Hulu Sungai Utara; and (5) Kepayang Village, Tapin.The analysis was conducted using Kuntowijoyo’s prophetic theory to uncover the prophetic pillars within the syair dindang. The findings reveal three main aspects: (1) humanization, reflected in prayers and hopes for children to act kindly toward others, to be fortunate (bauntung), intelligent, and compassionate; (2) liberation, expressed through prayers and supplications to  Allah ﷻ for guidance to avoid immoral deeds, as well as recognition of   Allah’s ﷻ supreme authority in preventing arrogance, oppression, and pride; and (3) transcendence, manifested in invocations of faith in   Allah ﷻ through the recitation of the kalimat tauhid, one of the Asmaul Husna, and shalawat.
