Assessing the effects of career construction counseling on career adaptability for graduate students of business administration

Abstract

This quantitative, explanatory, and quasi-experimental study evaluated the effects of Career Construction Counseling on the career adaptability of graduate students in Business Administration at a state university in Santa Catarina, Brazil. A total of 41 students participated, divided into an intervention group and a control group. The data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA), analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson’s correlation. The results revealed significant changes in the four dimensions of career adaptability, which remained 3 months after the intervention, as well as significant correlations between adaptability and sociodemographic variables such as age, marital status, education level, and presence of children. Implications for future research and practice are discussed.
