Abstract

Glucose metabolism in the epidermis has been well documented. In the present study, other enzyme activities and tissue concentrations of some substrates and coenzymes were measured in normal human sebaceous glands and epidermis by means of a fluorometric microchemical technique. This investigation of the metabolic pathways in sebaceous glands is based on the metabolic pathways established for the epidermis.
