Abstract

Inbred Buffalo male and female rats 4, 12, 24 and 52 wk of age ingested 0.04% N 4 (4' fluorobiphenyl)acetamide in a semisynthetic diet for 36 wk. Animals were killed 12 wk later. Male rats 24 wk old were more susceptible to the development of carcinomas of the kidney than were female rats of the same age or younger or older animals of both sexes. Rats with renal cell carcinomas either did not have hepatic carcinomas or had small ones.
