Abstract

The Rolls-Royce/Turbomeca Adour turbofan is the most successful engine in the highly competitive market to power modern trainer and light strike aircraft. Now in use in five different aircraft types, in every corner of the world, the Adour continues to be developed to meet future evolving requirements. Over three million hours of safe, reliable operation lie behind this development. This paper reviews the current status of the engine, and looks at the near-Term future of the Adour family.
