Abstract

This paper reports a clinical research using shared physical pain during sport and physical training as a means to enhance empathy in young delinquent people. The scores of empathy of 12 young delinquent people were assessed before and after a 6-month collective physical training. The analyses of recorded behaviour and verbal comments during the training are reported. Converging with the score improvement, they show two major effects of the proposed educative clinic: an increase of empathy and a decrease of emotional contagion.
