Abstract
We describe the design, construction and performance of electronics for the readout of a hybrid avalanche photodiode (HAPD). The HAPDs are being studied as possible candidates for the detection of Cherenkov rings in a proximity focusing ring imaging Cherenkov (RICH) detector, which is foreseen for the upgrade of the Belle spectrometer at the KEKB collider. © 2011 IOP Publishing Ltd and SISSA.
