Avances de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en las Universidades: Caso UNAN-Managua

Abstract

Universities have a fundamental function in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to be the necessary foundation for the social and professional future in which the goals for the development of societies are recorded.     UNAN-Managua is in a new stage, taking an active role, aimed at Nicaraguan society and its communities, influencing the participation of social actors to contribute and benefit development. The university has assumed the commitment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda and has integrated them into the work carried out from its substantive functions, for the strengthening of the University-Society link.     To achieve the results presented in this article, the methodology of quantitative and qualitative was used, of the information provided by the programs and projects executed by the different Academic Units of UNAN-Managua, which are complying with the SDGs of the Agenda 2030.     The results of the study carried out in the different Faculties, POLISAL, Institutes, Research Centers and Laboratories create a vision on the areas of incidence towards economic, social and environmental sustainability from the institutional work towards the achievement of the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda in the next ten years.Las Universidades tienen una función fundamental en los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), ser el cimiento necesario para el futuro social y profesional en el que se consignan las metas para el desarrollo de las sociedades.     La UNAN-Managua se ubica en una nueva etapa, tomando un papel activo, dirigido a la sociedad nicaragüense y sus comunidades, incidiendo en la participación de los actores sociales para contribuir y beneficiar el desarrollo. La universidad ha asumido el compromiso de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenibles (ODS) de la Agenda 2030 y los ha integrado en el trabajo que se realiza desde sus funciones sustantivas, para el fortalecimiento del vínculo Universidad-Sociedad.     Para lograr los resultados presentados en este artículo se utilizó la metodología cuanti-cualitativo, de la información suministrada de los programas y proyectos ejecutados por las distintas Unidades Académicas de la UNAN-Managua, que están dando cumplimiento a los ODS de la Agenda 2030.   Los resultados del estudio realizado en las distintas Facultades, POLISAL, Institutos, Centros de Investigación y Laboratorios crean una visión sobre las áreas de incidencia hacia la sostenibilidad económica, social y ambiental desde el quehacer institucional en pos del logro de los ODS de la Agenda 2030 en los próximos diez años.
