DISTÚRBIOS IDENTITÁRIOS EM TEMPOS DE GLOBALIZAÇÃO

Abstract

O presente artigo trata primeiramente do estado da questão identitária na antropologia atual, e em seguida desenvolve uma reflexão sobre os processos culturais contemporâneos. As relações entre lugar e identidade, lugar e cultura e cultura e identidade são examinadas nos planos teórico e empírico. Observa-se que as criações culturais são, atualmente, mais dominadas do que nunca pela problemática da identidade, e fortemente influenciadas pela globalização acelerada das situações locais. Há espaço hoje em dia para uma crítica das dominações globais e das respostas que elas engendram - crítica suscetível de conduzir a uma reflexão sobre as formas possíveis de resistência (local, política, artística etc.) a essas dominações.This article deals firstly with the state of the question of identity in current anthropology and, secondly, it develops a reflection on contemporary cultural processes. The relationships between place and identity, place and culture and culture and identity are theoretically and empirically examined. It is observed that cultural creations are, at present, more concerned with the problem of identity then they were previously, as well as being strongly influenced by the accelerated globalization of local situations. There is now room for a critique of global dominations and the responses they bring about - a critique which may enable a reflection on the possible forms of resistance (local, political, artistic, etc.) to these dominations.
