Abstract
The iDrone Online Camp aims to enhance middle and high school students’ engagement in STEM fields through hands-on experiences with drone technology. By immersing participants in project-based learning activities, competitions, and discussions on FAA part 107 regulations, the camp seeks to cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork abilities. Through a mixed-methods evaluation approach, the study assesses the impact of the camp on students’ attitudes, interests, and self-efficacy in STEM. Findings reveal that the camp positively influences participants’ STEM affinities and career aspirations, highlighting the importance of experiential learning in fostering a passion for STEM disciplines. Recommendations for future improvements and research directions are discussed to sustain students’ interest and engagement in STEM education.
