The article presents the proceedings of a workshop on the challenges that librarians face when promoting and embedding the use of electronic textbooks into learning and teaching processes within higher education institutions in Great Britain. The workshop, sponsored by the JISC Collections, gathered higher education librarians with the aim of identifying local issues that they face on a daily basis, as well as the assistance that the JISC Collections, publishers and electronic book aggregators could provide and coordinate with them. The librarians could hasten the coordinative process by integrating the MARC records, raise awareness, liaise with academic staff on selection and reading lists management and offer information literacy training courses for academics and students, among others.
