This study shows the analysis of the relation between the surface thermography and the air temperature in Winter 2002 at Curitiba's Metropolitan Region (Brazil). It was used data from the satellite image (Landsat TM Channel 6) and the meteorological data. Also it was applied the rhythmic analysis of the weather. The image shows the formation of a heated island on the urban surface and the meteorological data show the configuration of a cold island at 1,5 m, simultaneously, above urban agglomeration. The results show the theoretically known differences between the warming process of the natural and antropogenical surfaces (radiation balance).
