Abstract

Recently, UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) is used in a variety of fields such as the military service, fire prevention, traffic\r<br />supervision, mapping, and etc. The increased demand for UAVs is typically attributed to the low manufacturing and operational\r<br />costs, flexibility of the platforms to accommodate the consumer’s particular needs and the elimination of the risk to pilots’ lives in\r<br />difficult missions. But, in South Korea, UAV might be first introduced to military service, and is still in its infancy, just being\r<br />available for construction site monitoring, landscape photographing, spraying agricultural chemicals, broadcasting fields.\r<br />This study presents the background and the aim of flood mapping, and presents the possibility analysis of how to use UAV\r<br />effectively for flooding area. And author tries to overlap UAV image with the flooding area trace surveyed by ground surveys. As a\r<br />result, it is expected that UAV photogrammetry will contributes to investigating the flooded area by providing images, which is\r<br />describing the flooded area in near real-time and also making a decision like paying compensation
