Abstract

The 48V bus is currently beginning to be embraced by automotive OEMs to meet the everincreasing requirements for CO2 emissions. The adoption of this bus, while keeping the 12V alive is a major task for the bidirectional converter that connects them. Its reliability in case of malfunction in either software or hardware is a very important task of the system. This paper investigates some of the possible malfunctions that can happen in this converter using both simulation and experimental kits, that are commercially available.
