Abstract

This study was aimed to develop workbook “redox and electrochemistry” using socio-scientific issues (SSI) as a context in inquiry-based learning for teaching chemical literacy and scientific argumentation skills of senior high school students. The process of developing this workbook used 4D model with the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The developed workbook was validated by 5 experts and read by 10 high school students to determine its feasibility as a teaching material. The results of the content validation showed the CVR and CVI values of 1, which means it was feasible and the results of the readability test showed an average score of 88.5%, which means it was very feasible. Further research is needed to test the effectiveness of this workbook in learning to improve students' chemical literacy and scientific argumentation skills.
