Abstract

Chem. prepd. ZrO2 and HfO2 are isomorphous, and their monoclinic structure is basically the same as that of naturally occurring baddeleyite (McCullough and Trueblood, CA 53, 19709h). The unit cell dimensions of ZrO2 are: a = 5.1454, b = 5.2075, c = 5.3107 A., b = 99 Deg14' 0 Deg05'. The unit-cell dimensions of HfO2 are: a = 5.1156, b = 5.1722, c = 5.2948 A., b = 99 Deg11' 0 Deg05'. (All cell dimensions are 0.0005 A.). on SciFinder (R)
