Abstract

Following the approach presented by Mendoña (1958) and using basic calculus the Thornthwaite & Mather (1955) climatic water balance was simplyfied by eliminating the column Accumulated Potential Water Loss, without any loss for the final results. Such simplification increases the efficiency of the computations and it makes easier to understand the water balance.
