Abstract

In this research paper exhaustive review is conducted on artificial neural network (ANN) which is employed in the field of hydrological related problems, whereas the conventional approaches are cumbersome and complex in view of computational analysis. Artificial intelligence operation can be well exemplified through application in rainfall-runoff modelling, modelling streamflow, water quality modelling, and application in ground water. A good physical understanding of the hydrologic process being modelled can help in selecting the input vector and designing a more efficient network. This review provides examples for ANN model that provides reasonable accuracy for hydrological problems, and a more effective tool for engineering applications. Keywords-
