Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the response of moringa seedlings to planting medium and administration of Ratu Biogen growth regulator and their interactions. This research started from October to December 2021, taking place in Jahab Village, Tenggarong District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of 2 factors and was repeated 3 times. The treatment of planting media as the first factor (M) consisted of 4 levels, i.e. m0 (soil), m1 (soil + burnt husks = 1:2), m2 (soil + burnt husks = 2:2), and m3 (soil + burnt husks = 3:2). Ratu Biogen growth stimulant treatment as a second factor (B) which consisted of 3 levels, i.e. b0 (control), b1 (2 ml), and b2 (4 ml). The results showed that the response of moringa seedlings from the planting medium was very significant to the parameters of plant height aged 15, 30 and 45 days after planting (DAP), stem diameter aged 15 and 45 DAP; significant effect on the parameters of shoot emergence age, number of leaves aged 15 DAP, and stem diameter at 30 DAP; and hadn’t significant effect on the parameter number of leaves aged 30 and 45 DAP. The response of moringa seedlings from Ratu Biogen growth regulator had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height aged 30 DAP and hadn’t significant effect on the parameters of observation of the age of shoot emergence, number of leaves at 15, 30 and 45 DAP, plant height at 15 and 45 DAP, and stem diameter 15, 30 and 45 DAP. The interaction between the planting medium and Ratu Biogen growth regulator hadn’t significant effect on all observed parameters.
