ÍNDICE DE ÁREA FOLIAR DO FEIJOEIRO ESTIMADO EM FUNÇÃO DA COBERTURA DO SOLO PELAS PLANTAS

Abstract

RESUMO Procurou-se estabelecer um procedimento alternativo para a determinação do índice de área foliar (IAF) de uma cultura de feijoeiro (Phaseolus vulgaris) através da sua correlação com o grau de cobertura do solo (SC). A relação funcional determinada foi do tipo y = ax + bx² + cx³, que apresentou um coeficiente de determinação (r²) = 0,9423, indicando um bom ajuste estatístico entre as variáveis estudadas.SUMMARY An alternative procedure to determine the leaf área índex (LAI) of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) plants based on its correlation with the degree of soil coverage (SC) by plants canopy was studied. The detemnined functional relation of the type y = ax + bx² + cx³, showed a determination coefficient (r²) of 0,9423 which indicates a good statistical relation the studied variables.
