Abstract

The functions of hemocytes in innate immune response are reviewed with emphasized on their roles in coagulation, melanization and opsonization. Also the ways in which hemocytes are produced in and released from hematopoietic tissue are discussed. © 2006 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
