Abstract

Innovation within the organizational parameters is a trend that is getting attention and is commonly known as intrapreneurship. It is important to assess the opinions of individuals working withing the organizations to perceive the feasibility of entrepreneurial endeavors and their reception from the management. A qualitative study is undertaken with interviews from various individuals working in different organizations in Malaysian retail industry. Based on their opinions regarding the measures taken by the management to promote the intrapreneurial enviroment within the organizations, several conclusions are reached. Still Malaysian retail sector organizations are not keen on instilling a culture of innovation because of cultural reasons and any initiative taken by an employee brings a consequences of uncertainty along with appraisal.
