Abstract

The purpose of this research was verifying the influence of Agenda 21 on the concerted development plans for local and provincial governments from the Junin department by including sustainable development indicators. The study used a descriptive correlational method; and the instruments applied were observation sheets of 25 items, according to the logical structure of Agenda 21, within this, we have sustainable development dimensions (economic, social and environmental). The study population was represented by the concerted development plans from the nine provinces of Junin department (Huancayo, Jauja, Concepción, Tarma, Chanchamayo, Yauli, Satipo, Junin and Chupaca). Likewise, the census sample was made up of nine concerted development provincial plans of the Junin department. Some of the gathered results showed that when including the sustainable development indicators (23 % of the total), the influence of Agenda 21 on the development plans, was not significant (p> 0,05), the binomial test has a p value = 1, larger than the usual level of significance = 0,05. In conclusion, the Agenda 21 that promotes development and cooperation in environmental issues did not influence the concerted development plans for the local and provincial governments of the Junin department significantly, because only 23 % of the sustainable development indicators were included.
